ABOUT ME
Hi I’m Kazimiera Szyperski. I write about monsters — usually human, sometimes not.
I was born young in Pittsburgh to a Polish-American family that raised me on folklore and fear. Now I haunt the West Coast with my writing that blends horror, humor, and history.
I started as a model, before being roped into stunt work for small projects. Somewhere between the fake blood and the tangled cables, I discovered writing was how I wanted to contribute to the beautiful chaos behind the camera.
If my scripts had a smell, it would be campfire smoke, vintage lace, and something faintly bloody.
Influences
-

The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover (1989) Dir. Peter Greenaway
Audacious and rich in color, the film is a dark comedy masquerading as a romantic crime story, populated by morally corrupt and complex characters who commit unspeakable acts. Ultimately, the heroine only ‘wins’ by stooping to the level of her toxic and abusive husband.
-

Apostle (2018) Dir. Gareth Evans
A folk horror where humanity itself becomes the true monster, complete with a truly horrific death scene. Its slow-burn tension tightens its grip before erupting into a brutal, blood-drenched climax.
-

The Ugly Stepsister (2025) Dir. Emilie Blichfeldt,
Female-driven and ferociously bold, this Scandinavian–Polish body horror is both funny and folkloric, pushing each woman to do whatever she must to survive in a man’s world. Beautiful to watch and deeply unsettling in its most human moments.
-

Happiness (1998) Dir. Todd Solondz
A deeply dark and funny fly-on-the-wall exploration of human nature, this film is unflinching in its truths yet remains ironic, clever, and unexpectedly hilarious.
